MadCasino Responsible Gambling in Canada
Treat gambling as paid entertainment: it will not pay the bills or clear a debt. Here you will find what Canadian adults can do to keep play at MadCasino under control, from limits and breaks to self-exclusion and the free helplines run in each province. MadCasino is operated by Softon Ltd under Anjouan licence ALSI-202409012-FI1, valid until 6 September 2027 according to the Anjouan licence register. That licence covers the operator; it does not make the site provincially regulated and does not replace Canadian law.
Legal Status in Canada
Who regulates gambling
Under the Criminal Code, provinces conduct and manage gambling. Most run their own online platforms — PlayNow in British Columbia and Manitoba, Loto-Québec's online site in Quebec, PlayAlberta in Alberta — while Ontario licenses private operators through the AGCO and iGaming Ontario. Because each province sets its own approach, the position of an offshore site can differ between, say, Ontario and Quebec. Find out what your province says about foreign online casinos before you open an account.
Your position as a player
Canadian rules mostly concern who may run and advertise gambling, how payments are handled and how players are protected; they say much less about the individual customer. MadCasino sits outside all of it: it is licensed offshore, belongs to no provincial lottery system and is not one of the operators in the iGaming Ontario market. Whether using it is acceptable where you live is for you to check.
The adult player's choice
How an adult spends leisure time and money is their own decision. What a casino owes in return is honest information, proper age checks, working limits, a way to self-exclude and directions to help. Good decisions need all of those.
Nothing on this page is legal advice. Provincial rules change, and the answer for you can depend on where you live, the payment method you use and other details, so confirm the current position with your province before you play.
Age Restriction: 19+ or 18+
Minimum gambling age in Canada
- 19+ in most provinces and territories; 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.
- MadCasino's own minimum is 18, but the higher provincial age applies to you.
- Age is confirmed at sign-up and verified with photo ID and a selfie during KYC.
- Accounts opened by minors or with false data can be closed, with balances handled under the terms.
Parental control
Keep minors away from gambling with Qustodio or Net Nanny, blockers such as Gamban or GamBlock, and the family controls built into Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. Never save casino passwords on a shared device.

Still in Control? Ten Questions
- Has rent, grocery or hydro money ever ended up in a casino deposit?
- After a loss, do you deposit again to get it back the same evening?
- Do you keep your sessions secret from your partner or friends?
- Are you irritable, worried or ashamed once you log off?
- Do bigger stakes feel necessary to keep it exciting?
- Do sessions regularly run past the time you set?
- Have you borrowed, or used a credit line, to keep playing?
- Have you tried to quit or cut back and not managed it?
- Has gambling cost you sleep, work time or time with family?
- Do you see a big win as the way out of money worries?
0–1 "yes": keep your limits and breaks. 2–3: tighten limits or take a cool-down. 4 or more: stop and call one of the Canadian helplines below.
Player Control Tools at MadCasino
Deposit limits
Cap how much you add per period, from 24 hours to one week. Lower it any time; raising waits until the period ends.
Betting limits
Cap stake sizes with the same periods and the same rule: decreases apply at once, increases do not.
Loss limits
Set the most you are prepared to lose in a period, regardless of how much you deposit.
Session limits
Limit play time. Reality-check pop-ups were not listed among MadCasino's tools, so use a phone timer too.
Cool-down 1–48 hours
A short break with no deposits or play; withdrawals stay available.
Transaction history
Review deposits and withdrawals weekly to see what you really spend.
Asking support for help
MadCasino's page lists these tools but does not say where each one is set. If you cannot find one, ask live chat or email support@madcasino.io and state the action, the period and your username.
Self-Exclusion at MadCasino
- Email support@madcasino.io from your registered address; a chat message alone is not processed.
- It starts once confirmed by email and can last from one day to an indefinite period.
- You cannot log in, deposit, play or withdraw during the period — withdraw your balance first.
- The 2024 terms we saw say it cannot be shortened or cancelled early, so confirm the current rule with support first. Opening a new account breaks the terms.
Whatever is left in the account after the request is checked against the terms and the identity, anti-money-laundering and payment rules before anything is paid out. Bonuses still running and unsettled bets are dealt with under their own rules, and bonus money already used is not refunded.
Provincial Self-Exclusion Programs
Canada has no single national register. Provinces run their own programs — for example GameBreak in British Columbia, self-exclusion through Loto-Québec in Quebec, Alberta's AGLC program and the self-exclusion options of Ontario's regulated market. These programs cover provincial and provincially regulated venues and websites. They may not automatically block access to offshore websites such as MadCasino, so self-exclude directly with the casino as well and consider blocking software.
Blocking Software
| Tool | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| BetBlocker | Free blocking tool | Blocks gambling websites and apps |
| Gamban | Paid blocking tool | Works across several devices |
| GamBlock | Paid software | Device-level blocking |
| Qustodio / Net Nanny | Parental control | Filters sites and apps for families |

Data Protection
Responsible gambling requests should be handled confidentially under MadCasino's privacy policy. - Self-excluded players should receive no promotions; report it if you do.
- No bonus guarantees a win or works as a way to earn money.
Responsible Gambling Notice for Players from Canada

- Main regulators: provincial lottery and gaming bodies; AGCO and iGaming Ontario in Ontario
- National self-exclusion register: no; provincial programs only
- Local licensed market: provincial platforms; regulated private market in Ontario
- Offshore status: MadCasino holds an Anjouan licence, not a Canadian one
- Recommended support: ConnexOntario 1-866-531-2600 or your provincial helpline
In Canada, the protection you get depends heavily on whether a site is run or licensed by your province. Nothing here confirms that MadCasino may legally serve players in your province, so check your provincial rules before you sign up or deposit.
Safer Play FAQ
Does BC GameBreak or Quebec self-exclusion block MadCasino?
Usually not. Provincial programs cover provincial and provincially regulated venues and sites, while MadCasino is an offshore casino licensed in Anjouan. To be covered there too, request self-exclusion from MadCasino by email from your registered address and install blocking software such as BetBlocker or Gamban.
Can I undo a MadCasino self-exclusion before it ends?
Not according to the 2024 terms we saw, which say a confirmed exclusion cannot be shortened or cancelled; check the current rule with support. For a short pause, use the 1–48 hour cool-down instead, which blocks deposits and play but still lets you withdraw your balance.
Who can I call in Ontario about gambling problems?
ConnexOntario answers 24/7 at 1-866-531-2600 and connects you with free, confidential gambling, mental health and addiction services. Outside Ontario, use your provincial line, such as Gambling Support BC or Jeu : aide et référence in Quebec, listed on this page.
Can I still get my money out once I self-exclude?
Withdrawals are blocked during self-exclusion, so MadCasino advises cashing out before you request it. Any remaining balance is reviewed under the terms, KYC and AML rules, and bonuses already used are not refunded. Unsettled bets are handled under their own rules, so check your open bets before you send the email.
